Pensioner Killed in Farnham Road Accident – Police Appeal for Witnesses

Police accident signA pensioner was killed this morning (August 13) in a collision on the A31 Farnham Road railway bridge just off the gyratory.

The police are now appealing for witnesses to an incident in Guildford town centre today (Thursday, 13 August) in which a pensioner sadly died.

A police spokesperson said: “Officers are trying to piece together the circumstances which led to the 82-year-old local woman requiring treatment from paramedics (SECAMB) at the roadside.”

Inspector Julie Hillman said: “We need to establish exactly what happened to build a picture of events leading up to this tragic incident in Farnham Road. I’m urging anyone who has any information which might assist with the enquiry to contact the Collision Investigation Unit by calling 01483 639922 as soon as possible.”

Police were alerted to the incident at 11.35am. Roads were closed, causing heavy congestion while emergency services were in attendance and a collision investigation was carried out. Pedestrians were diverted through the railway station.

The roads were fully opened in the late afternoon.
