Burglars broke into a flat in Ash and took a quantity of china dolls and cushion covers before driving off in the direction of the M3.

A quantity of china figurines were taken during the incident, which took place at a block of flats in Shawfield Road, Ash, just after 1pm on Friday afternoon (April 12th).

The offenders went to the ground floor flat and used an implement to try to gain access, eventually breaking into the property through the kitchen window.

It is believed that a blue Audi was used in the burglary which has since been recovered in Basingstoke. A cushion case containing a number of china figurines and two index plates, believed to be from the Audi, were found discarded nearby. The Audi was stolen from the Horsham area on 11 April.

It is believed two suspects were involved in the burglary. The first is described as a man in his mid 20s, 6ft 3 tall, slim build with cropped ginger hair and wearing a dark blue or black zip-up top. The second man, who was believed to be driving the car, is described as 6ft tall, slim build with dark hair and was possibly wearing a suit.

Detective Constable David Bloomfield, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are appealing to anyone with any information to come forward straightaway, but particularly anyone who has seen a blue Audi A4 with the registration GU10 ORY being driven in the area around the time the offence took place.

“The same vehicle was also seen leaving the scene of another burglary in Woking about 20 minutes before this incident. On this occasion, three men were seen leaving the property and getting into a blue Audi and so I am appealing for anyone who saw the same vehicle in the Woking area earlier that day to also come forward.”

Offenders caused £500 worth of damage after trying to gain access to a house in the St John’s area but it is not believed that anything was taken.
