The Best of Guildford is hosting its Buy Local Week from now until June 8.

On Wednesday, Best of Guildford’s Sally Casto-Gouveia will be in Guildford town centre talking to some some of the independent shops asking them why they think it is important for people to buy and support locally.

Sally said: “If any local shops would like to be on our video they just need to email me and let me know.”

This Saturday there’s lots going on at the foot of North Street and Friary Street by the rotunda, featuring:

• Facing Heaven Food – local catering company
• Barrell & Cask – mobile bar
• Guildford Fringe – entertainment – singing – fire juggler – music
• New BMW i3 will be on display provided by Vines BMW
• So Sinatra – Frank Sinatra and possibly Michael Buble (impersonators)
• BKD Performers – street dancing at 12.30pm for children
• Face Painting by Gemma
• Balloons for children – provided by the Mandolay Hotel
• Dressing Up Box provided by Annette Lee – Design By Toro

Plus, more than 500 bags contains lots of local offers will be given away.

Saly added: “We really want to make the locals aware of this, so come on down and join in the fun and grab yourself a bargain bag.”
