Surrey Police is appealing to the public to help their detective work into a suspicious incident in Guildford.

Investigating officers believe members of the public in the area at the time of the incident may be able to provide valuable information and have released CCTV images in the hope that they will get in touch.

The incident took place on Worplesdon Road between 12.30am and 1.30am on Sunday, 16 August. It is reported that a man approached the victim, a woman in her 40s, on Worplesdon Road close to the Sainsburys Local store.

Detective Constable Nick Ring, said: “The CCTV from the area at the time of the offence shows two men walking past Sainsburys Local shop in Worplesdon Road which is in the vicinity of where the alleged offence took place.

“We are very keen to speak to them as they may be able to provide vital information which could help us piece together the events and progress this enquiry.”
