A car windscreen was smashed by people throwing rocks from the footbridge over the A3 near the Wooden Bridge pub, Guildford, on Monday evening (October 27). Fortunately no one was injured.

Surrey police are appealing for witnesses. They said they received reports of the incident shortly before 9pm. The car that was hit was travelling in the London direction.

A statement said: “Were you in the area around Wooden Bridge [pub] between 8.40pm and 8.50pm on Monday? Did you see anyone on the footbridge over the A3? Do you have CCTC, dashcam, or helmet cam footage that may have captured all or part of this incident?

“If you have any information that might assist our investigation, please get in touch quoting PR/45250130718.”
