Christmas Concerts Round-up

There are a number of Christmas concerts taking place in Guildford over the next few weeks.

A Night of Seasonal Songs and Storytelling, Saturday, December 6, St Francis’ Church, Westborough, 7.30pm

Join singers and musicians from the church for their annual Christmas concert of well known and popular songs reflecting winter and the Christmas season.

Also performing will be country-folk-blues band Sammy Rat and the Resonators, Outer Fringe close-harmony quarter and the newly formed Rhythm of Life community choir.

The concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets on the door are £5 for adults and £3 for children. Refreshments during the interval. More details from David Rose at drosedragon@gmail.com

St Francis Xmas concert

Christmas concert with the Friary Guildford Brass Band, Sunday, December 7, Park Barn Centre, Guildford, 2pm

BHF 2The concert, hosted by the Guildford & Godalming branch of the British Heart Foundation, commemorates the centenary of the First World War and branch members Shirley, Maureen, Mary and Marjorie’s 30 years of fund raising for the BHF.

The concert is from 2pm to 4.30pm and there will be a raffle. Tickets are £10, which include warm mulled wine and mince pies. Tickets from Shirley West on 01483 563071.

 

Candlelit Concert, Sunday, December 7, St Nicolas Church, Guildford, 8pm.

The Surrey Hills Singers and Surrey Hills Chamber Choir will be in concert with a soloist performance from Mike Winterbotham, plus additional Christmas favourites from both choirs.

Refreshments are inclusive after the concert, where you can join the choir for a glass of wine and a mince pie (or two).
