Community Lottery Brings Big Wins for Local Charities

The communications team at Guildford Borough Council says: “We’re celebrating a successful quarter in our Guildford Community Lottery. Through our lottery, we provide support to local charities while giving our residents the chance to win exciting prizes.”

The lottery, in partnership with Gatherwell Ltd, was launched in 2019 and it helps community groups, charities, and clubs raise money.

For just £1 per ticket, participants can support their favourite causes and have a shot at winning up to £25,000.

The council adds that during the latest quarter more than 11,572 tickets were sold, 154 local causes were supported and prizes awarded included £1,000, an iPhone, several £250 cash prizes and hundreds of free tickets.

When you buy a ticket you can choose which community group or charity will benefit from your purchase. 60% of ticket sales will go to good causes, 50% to your cause and 10% to the council’s Community Fund – Guildford Philanthropy. The rest goes towards prize funds and running costs.
