Amazon Expands Prime Delivery In Selected Surrey Postcode Areas

Online shopping website Amazon has launched Prime Now, an app offering one-hour delivery on more than 15,000 popular items, to members of its Prime service in selected postcodes in the Surrey area.

It may be another blow to high street shops, effecting both multi-nationals and independents.

Amazon said that customers can use its Prime service to choose from thousands of items, including essentials such as nappies, coffee, chocolate and fresh milk, as well as other popular items like games consoles, toys, gifts and sports equipment via a mobile app.

The areas now included in Amazon Prime include:

• one-hour delivery: GU11, GU12, GU14, GU15, GU16, GU17, GU18, GU19, GU47
• two-hour delivery: GU1, GU10, GU2, GU20, GU21, GU22, GU23, GU24, GU25, GU3, GU4, GU46, GU51, GU52, GU7, GU8, GU9

To access Prime, you need to be a Prime member. You can sign up for a 30-day free trial . After your free trial, Amazon Prime costs £79 a year. Prime members can immediately download the Prime Now app to find eligible delivery postcodes and request notification when the service is available in their area.
