Renewal of residents parking permits in Guildford Borough have been delayed because of “issues” with the council’s suppliers.
The council has apologised for the delay which will be affecting 3,000 residents who hold parking permits. They pay £50 per annum for the first car and £80 for a second.
A council spokesperson said: “Unfortunately, there has been a delay in sending out the renewal letters this year. This was due to issues with our suppliers. However, these matter have now been resolved and the renewals have been printed and sent out.
“Households are able to renew their permits online as soon as they receive the renewal letter. Indeed, we have already received and processed a number of online renewals, as well as some in person.
“Permit-holding residents are advised to continue to display their current permits in their vehicle, until they receive their new permit. We will take a sympathetic stance on any enforcement matters related to residents displaying expired permits during the early part of October.”
“Nevertheless, we apologise for any inconvenience caused by the delay in receiving the renewal letter.”
