Mole Valley’s MP Sir Paul Beresford yesterday (Thursday) visited the Surrey-based Sirius Insight a global leader in Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.
The company which focuses on safety and security at sea using AI, welcomed Sir Paul, to its headquarters in Chiddingfold to tell him about the company’s growth and its plans to export its technology overseas.
AI technology is used to analyse data from its network of advanced sensors stationed along the UK coastline to autonomously detect and analyse suspicious activity and notify the authorities of those in peril to ensure safety and security at sea.
According to Sirius Insight, it is the only UK company working in this cutting-edge field of technology and is taking a global lead. The business currently employs 21 people, including 3 data analyst apprentices, and will be taking on another apprentice this month.
Malcolm Glaister, CEO, said: “The visit was a great opportunity to showcase the progress we are making as an innovative UK tech company which is creating high-skilled jobs in Surrey and employing apprentices locally.
“The UK has a long history of excellence in the maritime domain and we at Sirius Insight are proud to play a leading role in delivering safety and security at sea.”
