Cyclist Receives Life-changing Injuries in Collision

A cyclist received life-changing injuries yesterday (August 9) when they collided with a road sign. No other vehicle is known to have been involved. Police are now appealing for witnesses.

Officers were called to reports of a single-vehicle collision road involving a pedal bike on the Epsom Road between the Merrow Park & Ride roundabout and Clandon crossroads at about 12:50pm.

The road was closed for traffic travelling from the A25 roundabout for Park Lane to the crossroads with The Street and Shere Road while emergency services responded.

The cyclist was taken to hospital with injuries that are believed to be life-changing, and his next of kin were informed.
