Cyclist Seriously Injured Following Collision with Coach

A cyclist was left seriously injured today after a collision with a coach. The coach driver, in his late 40s, is said to be assisting he police with their investigation after the coach was later stopped at Heathrow Airport.

Officers were called to the A320 Woking Road, by Jacobs Well, at 9.44am this morning (Tuesday, August 25) after reports of a collision involving a cyclist and a coach at the location.

The cyclist, a man in his 30s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where he remains.

Road closures were reported to be in place at 1.30pm on Woking Road between the Salt Box Road roundabout and the junctions with Burdenshott Road, Clay Lane, and Whitmoor Lane to allow officers to carry out their initial enquiries but were shortly expected to be lifted.

A police spokesperson said: “Were you in the area around Woking Road between 9.15am and 9.35am this morning?

“We are asking anyone who may have witnessed this collision, or who may have CCTV, dashcam, or helmet cam footage that may have captured all or part of this incident, to get in touch.
