Dan James’ Photo Album: June 2013

Dan James is a photographer, graphic and web designer from Guildford. He takes stunning landscape and natural history photos and films. Here is a selection of five photos for June.

Taken earlier this year for a SWT (Surrey Wildlife Trust) shoot to show the natural areas around Guildford which not many people know about – but right on our doorstep! I like this one as it’s all overgrown and forest-like, just before they did some maintenance!

This dandelion was shot on the top of Woodside Road, Westborough, on a sunny evening a few months ago.

Another sunset, but this time I was taking a cycle ride up The Mount. This is a shot from a series of photos I took – quite a simple shot but you can see the Royal Surrey County Hospital chimney in the background.

Quite an old photo of a dragonfly I captured last year. Unfortunately, I cannot remember where in Surrey I took it, but I still really like it.

I thought for this edition I would bring you a photo from a bit further afield than Guildford. This was taken on aboard the Ventura cruise ship last year.
