Local historian and writer David Rose will be giving another of his illustrated talks, Guildford the War Years 1939-45, via Zoom, as a charity fundraising event for Guildford Lions Club to support the local community.
It will be on Wednesday, February 2, starting at 7.30pm. Access to the Zoom link is just £5.

During the Second World War Guildford was a hive of activity. David’s illustrated talk looks at many events including George VI’s visit to Stoughton Barracks in 1939, Dennis Brothers motor-works making munitions for the war effort, the local Home Guard, the Women’s Land Army, air raids and those who were part of the civil defence, plus how the town celebrated when peace came.
