Surrey Police are investigating an assault in a Guildford pub garden in the early hours of Thursday morning (March 10).

A man was assaulted in the garden of the Five and Lime pub on Leapale Road, in Guildford town centre and officers are now appealing for witnesses.

The attack happened shortly after 12.30am. Passing police officers were flagged down by a member of the public, and when they arrived they found the victim with a deep cut to his eye.

A police spokesperson said: “We believe the suspect was part of a group of eight men, one of whom was wearing a white jumper.
