Paul Follows, the new Lib Dem leader of Waverley Borough Council, recently wrote to The Dragon cautioning against Guildford Borough Council too eagerly seeking a review of the Local Plan.
So, in the wake of the news that the council has decided to press ahead, Dragon editor Martin Giles decided to invite him for an interview.
Hear what he has to say about the nature of the review, the problems with the national planning policy, its impact on boroughs such as Guildford and Waverley and its effect on the electoral fortunes of the various political parties.
He also refers to Martin Giles’ earlier interview with local MPs Angela Richardson and Sir Paul Beresford.
Also discussed are the problems of brownfield development, the status of negotiations between GBC and Waverley on cost-cutting shared services and the likelihood of any re-emergence of the proposal for a single unitary authority in Surrey.
Please listen to Cllr Follows’ refreshingly forthright answers…
