The newly re-elected Police and Crime Commissioner Lisa Townsend gives her current priorities for her next four-year term in an interview with Martin Giles.

She recalls the issues most raised with her during her campaign including anti-social behaviour and shop-lifting and says it is no accident that Surrey is the safest county in the South East despite bordering London to the north.

Why did Ms Townsend not identify that Surrey Police had on the drawing board that Guildford Police Station is going to close and its operational wing was moving unto Surrey Police HQ?

Questions need to be asked, where will persons be taken into custody. Will this require additional journey time for the arresting officers, witnesses and also persons associated with the prisoner?

If officers are operating out of Surrey Police station, will they have access to the town CCTV system.

Is the sale of Guildford Police station being brought about because of the money wasted buying Land in Leatherhead. Has Surrey County Council of Surrey Police sold the Land at Leatherhead Police Station yet?

Editor’s comment: We have asked to interview a senior police officer on the subject.
