A plaque awarded to a notable work of public art has been installed at Guildford railway station. “Host” won a Guildford Design Award in the “public art” category in November 2023.

Local artist Julia Hoyle decided that she wanted the plaque to be seen by the public, many of whom have said that they admire the installed panels which display different features historic and current of Guildford.

Guildford commuters and railway passengers are likely to be very familiar with the work of art which was installed in 2022.

The plaque was unveiled in a ceremony carried out on Wednesday morning (February 28) as curious railway passengers filed by.

Speeches were given by Peter Coleman, chair of the Guildford Design Awards judges, a representative of the South East Communities Rail Partnership and Julie.
