Elderly Pedestrian Injured in Collision on Woodbridge Road

The red Ford Focus pictured is understood to have struck an elderly pedestrian

An elderly man has been injured in a collision with a car in Woodbridge Road this afternoon (Tuesday, October 16).

The incident took place, by the junction with Dapdune Road, at about 4.40pm and involved a red Ford Focus.

The man, who is in his late 80s, was taken to hospital by ambulance crews for treatment to head injuries.

At 6pm the lane into Guildford town centre was still closed, while the lane out of the town was being opened briefly and closed as police officers continued to carry out an investigation into the incident.

Tweets and media releases by Surrey Police advised drivers to find an alternative route.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it is urged to contact Surrey Police on 101, quoting reference P12303316.

As night fell police investigators continued to survey the scene.
