Elderly Woman Dies In Ash Fire

The death, in a domestic fire, of an elderly woman, believed to have been in her nineties, was reported to Ash Parish Council at their meeting last night by Cllr Carla Morson (Ind, Ash South).

A spokesperson for Surrey Fire & Rescue Service said today (May 10): “We were called to a fire on Kingsfisher Walk in Ash at 11.48pm on Sunday, May 8.

“We sent four fire engines. Very sadly, the resident was confirmed deceased at the scene. The thoughts of everyone at Surrey Fire and Rescue Service are with the residents’ loved ones at this difficult time.

“The extent of the fire was contained to a small area. Our Fire Investigation Team will continue to work with other partners to establish the cause.

“Our staff were in the local community after the incident to support them and offer safety advice. Thank you to all staff and partners for assisting with this tragic incident.”
