A fabulous display of vintage and modern emergency vehicles lined Guildford High Street as part of the town’s second Emergency Services Community Safety Day.

Cadet Henry Ho (Woking unit); the Deputy Mayor of Guildford, Mike Parsons; cadet Kieron Campbell (Runnymead unit); and PC Bennetts (Woking cadet leader).
Organised by the Experience Guildford’s Town Centre Crime Reduction Partnership, the event, on Saturday July 22, paid tribute to the region’s emergency services and the 999 heroes who work within them.
Leading the attraction outside the Guildhall was an immaculate vintage Bedford ambulance presented by Surrey Ambulance Retirement Association (SARA) and a Dennis F12 Fire Engine presented by the Amix Club. Alongside this, visitors viewed modern day emergency service vehicles from Surrey Police, Surrey Fire & Rescue and the London Ambulance Service.
Inside the Guildhall, partners of the Experience Guildford’s Town Centre Crime Reduction Partnership, including Surrey Police Cadets, Surrey Fire & Rescue and the team from SARA were on hand to offer visitors practical tips and advice on how to stay safe.
Home security firm, Banham Security, also offered visitors free home security checks and advice on how to better protect their property and personal belongings.
Experience Guildford’s general manager Amanda Masters said: “We were thrilled to see the event gathering such momentum. A great day out for all the family, it reminds us of the important role the emergency services play within our community and how this has evolved over the years. The Guildhall partnership displays proved a popular hit with visitors.
“Huge thanks must go to all the partners involved who once again helped bring this interesting and informative event together.”
