Send and Ripley History Society has mounted a new exhibition at the Ripley Museum about the locality in the 1960s.
The exhibition is largely comprised of photographs but also includes some Sixties artefacts – and some great Sixties dresses.
The exhibition runs until April and the museum is open every Saturday from 10am to 12.30pm.It can be found in the courtyard of the village hall on Ripley High Street, GU23 6AF.
To complement the exhibition, at 7.30pm on Tuesday, March 7, David Rose will give an illustrated talk entitled Guildford – The Rock ‘n Roll Years in Ripley Village Hall. He will be joined by Mick Douglas and Johnny Kelly of the band the Crescendoes, who will be contributing with their memories of the local music scene back in the 1960s. The evening will be rounded off by all three playing songs from the era.
