Guildford Railway Station

Network Rail were tight-lipped about a fatality at Guildford railway station that occurred on Sunday (September 20).

Eventually, hours after the incident, a spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “We were called to Guildford station at around 12.05pm yesterday (20 September) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Officers attended, along with paramedics, but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

It is not known how much disruption was caused to rail services.
