Come on a free guided walk led by The Guildford Dragon NEWS’ Martin Giles and David Rose to see a piece of Guildford’s hidden history near the Surrey Sports Park.

Their walk is in conjunction with David’s Joining In! project, that supports community development in Westborough and Park Barn, and Living Streets, a charity that promotes healthy and enjoyable walking.

The circular walk, of about two miles in length, starts from the Park Barn Social Centre, Park Barn Drive, GU2 8EN, at 2pm, on Tuesday, October 6.

The destination is the site of a medieval royal hunting lodge, once part of the Guildford’s royal deer park – a place once visited by kings and queens.

Today there are the remains of a moat that once surrounded the lodge. The walk passes near the Surrey Sports Park and its sports pitches.

You will also see the development going on here with the construction of the University of Surrey’s new school of veterinary. Come and have your say on what you will see!

No need to book, just come along to the meeting point where parking is available. Also on a regular bus route.
