Friary Passage, which leads from the North Street end of Friary Street to the town wharf by the river, has been given a major revamp with a deep clean, improved lighting and, most noticeably, cheerful, artistic murals running for the passage’s entire length.

The project cost £33,000, £24k from Surrey Council Council funding, allocated by local councillor Catherine Houston (Lib Dem, Guildford South East), and £9k from GBC funding available for Ukrainian refugee integration work.

Judging by those using the passage, spoken to by The Dragon, the project has produced a popular outcome.

The newly-decorated Friary passage is lovely. Is the pavement going to be cleaned?
