G Live Fatalities: Borough Council Issue Second Statement

A second statement has been issued by Guildford Borough Council regarding the G Live accident on Saturday (February 9), following the announcement that a second man has died.

The statement reads: “We are very sad to hear the news that a second person died last night, following the serious incident on Saturday 9 February at G Live. The Council expresses its condolences and sympathy to all involved and our thoughts are with the family and friends of both men who died. Also with everyone else on site or affected by this tragic event.

“A full investigation is underway and this is currently the responsibility of outside agencies. Our health and safety team continue to offer any necessary assistance. Our building control team also continue to advise on ensuring that the site of the incident in the backstage part of the G Live building remains safe.

“We are helping in any way we can during this very difficult and sad time.”
