Geographical Association to Hold Annual Conference in Guildford

A public lecture will be given by meteorologist and broadcaster Peter Gibbs

The University of Surrey is to be the venue for all those interested in the teaching of geography.

The Geographical Association’s three day Annual Conference and Exhibition 2017  is to be held at the university commencing Thursday, April 20.

Every year the association welcomes more than 750 delegates from all over the world to take part in a range of lectures, workshops, field visits and social events.

Organisers say: “Our annual conference provides an opportunity to meet in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere for professional and social development through a range of events.”

Included in the programme will be a public lecture by Peter Gibbs on ‘Antarctica – Heartbeat of the Planet’ (April 20, 5.45pm) and the keynote lecture, “Young people, race, religion and migration: negotiating everyday geopolitics” (April 22 10.10am) .
