Guildford Action, that supports homeless people, rough sleepers and families who are struggling, is having to find new ways of fundraising to make sure it can continue the important work it does.

On top of an annual grant from Guildford Borough Council, it needs to raise further funds.

Today (Monday, March 23) Guildford Action’s community fundraiser, Stuart Alexander, has posted a video on YouTube asking people and businesses to pledge £2 a month.

In the film, Stuart, who is also known as Big Mouth Guildford, for his on-line videos, says Guildford Action has been “working really hard with local agencies to make sure the homeless are safe and well. And I am pleased to say the majority of the people who were living on the streets of Guildford are safe and well in B&B accommodation”.

He adds that Guildford Action was planning to raise £30,000 this coming year with events over the summer. These will probably not take place, therefore it is looking at different ways to raise funds.

Stuart is asking people and businesses to click the link above him in the clip to pledge £2 a month.
