Two by-elections were contested on Thursday, May 2, for seats on Guildford Borough Council.
Murray Grubb, standing for the Conservatives, won the vacant seat for Ash Wharf with 687 votes. Alan Hilliar for the Lib Dems polled 420 votes, with Labour’s Joan O’Byrne receiving 225 votes.
Lizzie Griffiths, representing the Lib Dems, won the vacant seat for Stoughton with 999 votes. Tory Sharon Stokes polled 768 votes, while Labour’s Will Cooper received 312 votes.
