Guildford Furnisher Seeks Artworks and Photos of Town Views

Staff at the DFS store in Guildford are asking for submissions to their ‘View from a Sofa’ competition. Images submitted may be used to help decorate the shop with local scenery.

The shop, on North Street, is encouraging creative talent in the local community to capture their favourite landmarks across Surrey, through photography or a piece of art.

The competition is open to everyone over 18 years of age, whether they’re a complete beginner or a professional. The winner will see their photo or artwork of a local scene framed and displayed in store.

Store manager, Andrew Clark, said: “We’ve been getting to know the local community and customers across Guildford over the past few weeks and we really wanted to find out what it was that inspired people, what building or landmark really stood out for locals and made them proud.

“We’re looking for an image that captures the county’s heritage and unique personality. The winning photograph or artwork will take pride of place in the store for everyone to view and I’m really excited to see all of the entries.”

The deadline for entries is Friday, June 15. Entries can be submitted by sending a photograph via email to PRDFS@havas.com or by sending a CD by post to DFS, A View from a Sofa, Havas PR UK, 26 Palmerston Place, Edinburgh, EH12 5AL.
