Robert Dorado: Jailed for six years

A 50-year-old Guildford man who was suspected of drug dealing was pulled over by police while driving his Alfa Romeo on the A245 near Painshill, Cobham.

Robert Dorado knew the game was up but refused to get out of the car, forcing officers to smash a window, a court heard.

Inside, the back seat was littered with bags of Class A drugs. There was also a bag containing £20,000 in cash.

On Wednesday (September 9) Dorado was jailed for six years.

Guildford Crown Court heart that following his arrest, last September, a search of his home address found more evidence including a safe stuffed with money, around a kilo of cocaine and 13kg of cannabis.

Dorado pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs and possession of criminal property.

The prison sentence was broken down as follows:

Six years for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, nine months for possession with intent to supply Class B drugs, and 18 months for the possession of criminal property, all to run concurrently.

Detective Constable Harry Robberts, from Surrey Police’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit, said: “If you are dealing illegal drugs within Surrey, it will be a matter of time before we find you. Drugs destroy our communities and we will continue working to target and pursue anyone involved in the supply chain.”
