Guildford Parkrun: Results Saturday, May 11

More than 30 first-time runners joined in the 59th Guildford parkrun at 9am in Stoke Park on Saturday when a total 178 runners took part in the free, weekly, five kilometre event.

Guildford parkrunFirst man home was Daniel Wallis in 17.39 minutes, closely followed by Alex McIntosh in 17.56, and Mark Hadley in 18.13.

The first woman was Katherine Philp in 19.13. It was her first Guildford parkrun. Second was Michelle Oldham in 20.00, and third, Katie Bingle, in 21.51. Both Michelle and Katie have been first twice each in previous Guildford parkruns.

Men’s placings:
Daniel WALLIS (JM15-19) of Guildford & Godalming AC, was first over the line in 17:39 – 4th time in 10 appearances.
Alex MCINTOSH (SM30-34) of Garden City Runners, was second over the line in 17:56.
Mark HADLEY (SM30-34) of Woking AC, was third over the line in 18:13.

Current standing in the Men’s annual points competition:
Daniel Peter HEFFERNAN (Unattached) 983 pts.
Andrew FLANAGAN (Unattached) 819 pts.
David WOODCOCK (Unattached) 705 pts.

Women’s placings:
Katherine PHILP (SW30-34) of Garden City Runners, was first (6th overall) over the line in 19:13 – first appearance.
Michelle OLDHAM (VW40-44) of Woking AC, was second (10th overall) over the line in 20:00 – Has been first to finish on 2 previous occassions.
Katie BINGLE (JW15-19) of Guildford & Godalming AC, was third (30th overall) over the line in 21:51 – Has been first to finish on 2 previous occassions.

Current standing in the Women’s annual points competition:
Susanne BARNES (Woking AC) 828 pts.
Julia BONILLA (Unattached) 790 pts.
Debbie AITKEN (Unattached) 735 pts.

The following runners recorded the best Age Grade scores:
Katherine PHILP (SW30-34) was graded 77.54 % for the time 19:13 (6th overall).
Michelle OLDHAM (VW40-44) was graded 76.92 % for the time 20:00 (10th overall).
Jim BROWN (VM60-64) was graded 76.77 % for the time 21:27 (25th overall).

This week there were 178 runners, of whom 33 were first timers and 50 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 18 different athletics clubs took part.

Guildford parkrun started on March 10, 2012, and since then 1,755 different runners, including participants from 144 athletics clubs, have completed 5,989 runs covering a total distance of 29,945 km, and there have been 1,265 new Personal Bests.

The Women’s course record is held by Katherine PHILP who ran in a time of 19:13 on May 11, 2013 (event number 59).
The Men’s course record is held by Tom ALDRED who ran in a time of 15:30 on April 7, 2012 (event number 5).
The Age Grade course record is held by Jane DAVIES who recorded a 90.41 % run (22:25) on April 27, 2013 (event number 57).
