Guildford’s MP Anne Milton says she is delighted with the level of interest being shown around the town over the EU debate.
With two more debates scheduled to take place, Ms Milton, who has still to announce how she intends to vote, has said that she is prepared to organise yet more debates if the demand exists.
Ahead of the next EU debate (Guildford Baptist Church, June 9) which Anne will chair, she said: “I am delighted that there has been so much interest not just for the debates themselves but also around the town. Everywhere I have gone over the last few weeks it’s the top topic of conversation.
“I have been particularly pleased that it has captured the thoughts of people who have said they are not normally that interested in politics.
“At cooking classes for parents, in the hairdressers and even on the dentist’s chair, it’s the thing everyone is asking me about.
Encouraging residents to attend the next event, Anne Milton added: “Do come along next week. There will plenty of opportunity to not only hear from the speakers but to make sure they hear from you and answer your questions about what it will mean to remain in or leave the EU.”
A further debate for the Guildford Business Community is to be held on Thursday 16 June, 8:00-9:30am at G Live. This event on will be for registered guests only.
