The owners of a much-loved cat are appealing for help to trace his whereabouts after he was picked up and stolen by two young men outside shops on Woodbridge Hill on Saturday morning (November 5).
Ginger was stolen at 8.40am. The theft was witnessed and both men, in their early twenties, were wearing grey or green jackets. The smaller one was wearing a baseball cap, while the taller one was seen holding Ginger outside the Co-op store on Woodbridge Hill.
At about 9.15am they were again spotted by Lloyds chemist shop and the Co-op store in Aldershot Road, on the parade of shops near the junction with Southway.
Ginger’s owners Mike and Penny Ellis have offered a reward that leads to the cat’s safe return.
Mike said: “I have put posters up in the area and the police are looking at CCTV from both Co-op stores and at Boots.”
Ginger, who is ginger and white in colour, is about 13 years old and has lived on Woodbridge Hill all his life, with Mike and Penny owning him for a number of years.
Anyone with information can call the police on 101 or call Mike on 07954 533380 or email him at gingercat.mike@gmail.com
