Thanks to support from the Department for Transport through our Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP), we’re introducing smarter ways to manage the road network and reduce disruption to public transport.
Our long-term goal is a transport system that works better for our communities and supports a greener future.
Each month, over 2,500 street works permit applications are processed in Surrey. Until recently, there was no single digital system to show how these works affected bus routes – making it difficult to manage emergency works or avoid multiple closures along the same corridor. This often-caused delays and frustration for passengers.
We’re now using the Causeway one.network platform, which gives us a real-time, digital map showing both roadworks and bus routes together.
