Junction 10, M25 news here.We are working hard to make bus travel more reliable, accessible, and sustainable for residents. Thanks to support from the Department for Transport through our Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP), we’re introducing smarter ways to manage the road network and reduce disruption to public transport.

Our long-term goal is a transport system that works better for our communities and supports a greener future.

Each month, over 2,500 street works permit applications are processed in Surrey. Until recently, there was no single digital system to show how these works affected bus routes – making it difficult to manage emergency works or avoid multiple closures along the same corridor. This often-caused delays and frustration for passengers.

We’re now using the Causeway one.network platform, which gives us a real-time, digital map showing both roadworks and bus routes together.

This new tool helps us to:

  • Spot potential disruptions earlier
  • Coordinate roadworks more efficiently
  • Share quicker, clearer updates with bus operators and the public

The result? Fewer delays, better communication, and more dependable bus journeys for everyone.

Embracing digital tools like one.network is just one of the ways we are investing in a cleaner, more connected future.
