Improvements Coming to Weybridge This Summer

Work on the next phase of the Weybridge town centre improvements programme is due to begin on June 15, bringing further enhancements for people walking, wheeling and travelling through the town centre.

The project will focus on improvements around the Balfour Road and Portmore Park Road mini roundabout, including new zebra crossings, upgraded footways and raised tables designed to improve accessibility and safety for all road users.

The works are expected to take around three months and will be delivered in four phases. Initial activity from June 15 to 22 will take place overnight, with teams constructing new zebra crossings and footways near Portmore Park Road and Old Wharf Way.

From June 23 through to mid-September, daytime works will focus on footway improvements on both sides of Balfour Road. The final phase, scheduled for September 15 to 25, will include the construction of raised tables and road resurfacing works.

To enable the works to be carried out safely, temporary traffic management and road closures will be required throughout the programme. Access from Portmore Park Road onto the A317 will be restricted for the duration of the works, and westbound closures on the A317 will be in place during phases two and three. Overnight full road closures will also be required during phases one and four, with signed diversion routes available for all vehicles.

We recognise that these works may cause some disruption and thank residents, businesses and road users for their patience while these important improvements are delivered.
