The annual group enrolment Day for the Guildford Area u3a is on Tuesday, August 11.
Taking place from 2pm to 3.30pm in Arena B on the lower floor of the Spectrum leisure centre, it is an ideal opportunity to chat to the group leaders and explore useful and entertaining ways of spending your spare time.
Guildford Area u3a is one of the largest in the country, with more than 1,700 members and more than 110 groups.
The broad range of activities includes arts and crafts, languages, literature, music, history, science, games, walks and trips.
For anyone not wanting to venture out there are groups that meet online, as well as regular virtual coffee mornings.
Joining Guildford u3a is open to anyone who is retired or no longer working full-time, or who has free time on weekdays, and is a great way to make new friends and learn new skills.
A year’s membership costs only £35 and entitles you to take part in as many groups as you can fit into your diary. New members are always very welcome.
If you don’t see a group on a topic you are interested in, why not consider setting one up yourself?
Guildford Area u3a is always keen to add new groups, and one of its group c-oordinators would be on hand to guide you.
