Law firm Hart Brown, with an office in Guildford, is sponsoring Cherry Trees, the East Clandon-based respite care charity for young people with disabilities.
The sponsorship takes the form of a model cow and is part of this summer’s Surrey Hills CowParade.
The event raises money for local community projects and enterprise schemes that benefit and enhance the Surrey Hills.
Dozens of brightly coloured, life-sized cows are now being placed across the Surrey until August. The herd is to be joined by the “Hart Brown Cow”, and local artist Tiffany Budd has been commissioned to design and decorate its cow.
Tiffany said: “I was thrilled to receive sponsorship from Hart Brown as I really wanted to be a part of the fabulous Surrey Hills CowParade. They decided on the bright and colourful ‘leafy cow’.”
She also found the process to be quite an amusing one, and added: “Never whilst undertaking a commission have I giggled or smiled so much, it’s not often you spend a day lying on the floor painting a cow’s tummy.”
The cow will be officially revealed on June 28 at the Brown Economic Forum which is held at the University of Surrey, but its main location will be outside Debenhams store in Guildford.
There is a specially designed app which you can find on the Surrey Hills CowParade website which is free to download and will help locate where all the cows are as well as allowing you to “check in” to each cow found.
Nigel Maude, chief operating office at Hart Brown said “All of the team at Hart Brown Guildford are excited to be part of the Surrey Cow Parade and to have the opportunity to raise awareness and funds for Cherry Trees, which was chosen by staff.”
The staff member who nominated Cherry Tree’s was Pru Hewett who also fund raises for the company.
A spokesperson for Cherry Trees said: “We are so grateful to Hart Brown for their support in choosing us to receive the monies raised from its cow.
“Hart Brown has an excellent reputation locally, both as a law firm, and for their community work. The money that will be donated will be used towards building a sensory bathroom as part of our sensory suite project which will benefit every single child and young person who comes to us.”
Founded in Switzerland, CowParade is one of the world’s largest public art events. It has travelled around the world and has now found its way to Surrey.
