Legends Festival Brings Stoke Park Alive With Music From The 60s to The 90s

Stoke Park with live music again at the Legends Festival, August 28 and 29, 2021.
Stoke Park came alive again this weekend as music from the 1960s to the 90s filled the air.
Friends and families were joined by the fun and excitement of the Legends Festival, after more than a year of uncertainty and lockdown.
The festival ran from Saturday to Sunday, August 28 to 29, bringing together much respected tribute bands from the music industry.
With the weather staying dry, the atmosphere was happy and upbeat – a chance to be entertained, and have a dance and a drink with loved ones at last.
Acts included Badness, Absolute Bowie, the Upbeat Beatles, Cloneplay and Totally Tina, among other artists.
Man in black hat and green T-shirt – Baggy Trousers – got the crowd up on their feet.

Dancing in the streets (or even in the park).
There was a collection over the two days for Marie Curie and its wonderful cause.
The Upbeat Beatles – taking everyone back a few decades!
Friends reunited and having a chat.
Starlight Concerts presented the Legends Festival in Stoke Park.
Jane, Candace, Amanda and Debi (in no particular order) “having a lovely time”.
As the sun went down on Saturday, festival goers relived the 90s with Take That Rule The World.
John O’Neil as Absolute Bowie bringing some much appreciated tunes to the park.
Totally Tina (Justine Riddoch) and her dancers and band set the place alight!

The amplified music and singing was too loud and continuous throughout the day till up to 10pm both on Saturday and Sunday.
I could hear it from as far as St Martha’s Church [near Chilworth]. I really hope this is not going to happen again next year.
Also there isn’t a dedicated out of hours phone line to call on the nuisance department webpage like there was before.
There is just a form that is not really useful to deal with high levels of amplified music coming from the festival at the time, to ask them to turn it down, I mean.
I would also like to add that while a lot of people in Guildford during the lockdowns experienced no noise, in my area there was throughout the lockdowns intense building works going on from two houses on the road.
They never stopped working during the lockdowns, with high levels of noise (for a year and a half and it’s still on going on one house).
This has had an effect on my overall wellbeing. Because of it I have been having awful migraines and I feel physically sick when I am at home.
It would be nice to have some peace and quiet at least at the weekends, but no chance of that in Guildford.
