Letter: A Proposal to Decrease Through Village Traffic

On the subject of traffic flow through our villages, I have recently been using the A247 down through Clandon to get north bound onto the A3.

To do this I have to travel all the way through Ripley village to get onto the A3 and the same coming back later in the day.

Whilst road reviews are taking place, it would help everybody if a north bound entry slip road could be made at Burnt Common as well as south bound exit slip road.

This would save Ripley from all the increasing traffic. There seems to be enough land in the area around where the south bound entry slip road is.

100% correct and Ripley Parish Council have been saying the same for 20 years now.

And whilst on A3 improvements we badly need a southbound entry at Ockham roundabout for the same reasons. Again the land is there but is the will ?
