My brother did the trial described in the article: Royal Surrey Gets Cancer Patients Fit for Surgery earlier this year and, thank goodness, he has come through a traumatic time with the help and support of the wonderful people at the hospital.

Anyone facing such a marathon needs all the help they can get. To make it through treatment that includes the complete removal of the stomach and come out the other side is amazing. My father died from the same complaint only 21 years ago. We were given no hope then.

It’s incredible how far we have come in such a short time. This is all done by research and very clever medical staff and I thank them from the bottom of my heart.
