Letter: How Can Our Infrastructure Cope With the Station Development?

Published on: 23 Jan, 2018

From Bernard Parke

hon alderman and former Mayor of Guildford

Traffic on this through route almost reaches grid lock already.

How on earth can our infrastructure cope with this development?

Is this a prelude for further schemes?

Didn’t the leader of the council promise that no developments would proceed without adequate infrastructure?

Surely he has the answer then?

I presume that Solum will replace the decaying bridge at the bottom of Farnham Road with one twice the width, before they bring hundreds of lorries to the site, possibly using the route from the A3 past the Cathedral. If they do not, I anticipate that these lorries will end up on the railway line when the bridge collapses.
