Conservative borough councillor for Ash South & Tongham

I confirmed to the Surrey Heath Conservative Association a few weeks ago that I would not be standing in the Guildford Borough Council election in May.
However, to bring others up to date I have been approached by Guildford Conservative Association and asked if I would mind being put forward as a candidate in the west or north wards of Guildford.
Whilst nothing has been signed yet I have agreed to consider it, although clearly that would be a challenge for a Conservative in the current climate! And it would be wrong to state I would be standing as a “paper” candidate as I would campaign, if I agree.
I have enjoyed most of my 12 years as a borough councillor and will miss the cut and thrust of the council chamber and the endless workload generated at GBC.
I wish everyone well for May 4, and I am sure that my replacements in Ash South and Tongham (part of the enlarged Pilgrims ward from May 4) will work hard for the community and the borough.
