From Lottie Harding
In response to: Council Reorganisation: Proposals ‘Will Not Make a Jot of Difference’ Says Councillor
So there were 3,265 responses to a survey that every district and borough council in Surrey were heavily promoting across a population of 1.2 million is 0.27 per cent. Hardly representative when a few hundred of those responses could easily have been from councillors and officers across Surrey voting to keep their own jobs!
I’ve never contacted my local councillor about anything. On the odd occasion I have actually contacted the council, which I think has been less than a handful of times in the 20 years I have lived in Guildford, I’ve mainly done it online and that was only to report a missed bin, a vandalised bus stop or change my address.
I suspect the vast majority of the population really don’t care about all this nonsense.

In response to Lottie Harding’s letter, yes I do care. However, whatever anyone may wish for in respect of the reorganisation of “local” government, the retrogressive, dictatorial socialist government we are currently having to endure will, I suspect, have already decided the fate of the people of Surrey.
We will all be lumbered with higher council taxes to pay off the debts of the millions of pounds owed by other Surrey authorities, less “local” government leading to worse services from remote unitary head offices.
This is a one-way ticket with no return. I suspect many people do care but faced with the inevitable conclusion being imposed on them by Starmer and his cohorts, are totally unable to do anything about it.

Hear, hear. Stammer and his townie cronies care nothing for the countryside. I believe they actually despise Surrey, and all who live here.
