Gavin Morgan has expressed my concerns very well.

None of the flyers I have received from the political parties soliciting my vote at the forthcoming elections have addressed any of these issues. For the most part what they have done is criticise the other political parties.

It seems to me that local democracy has been eviscerated by this change under the pretext of saving money, but in reality it is just giving greater central control to the Westminster Government.
