In response to: Councillors Should Take Their Example From Bill Bellerby

For the first time this year, we opened up the selling of poppies for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal to ask staff if they would like to volunteer, as well as councillors, honorary freemen and aldermen.

We were delighted with the enthusiastic response, and the time slots were filled very quickly, so it’s a real team effort this year. Other councillors are also selling poppies in their own wards.

I would like to thank everyone who volunteers their time for this important charity as we mark this special time of annual remembrance.
