Letter: Thank You Dragon

Having moved from the area a few years ago, I just wanted to thank the editorial team at The Guildford Dragon NEWS for keeping up the good work.

There is no online paper where I now live, and I miss the quality of the journalism, the ability to read stories without being bombarded by ads and the level of reader engagement that you get with The Dragon.

It wouldn’t exactly break the bank at £52 a year for me to subscribe to my local paper and get rid of the ads, but I am not inclined to because it is very much a traditional newspaper that happens to be online. There isn’t any reader-led commentary. Reader correspondence is not only enjoyable, a well written letter or campaign has been known to influence local democracy.

I am sure that Dragon readers do fully appreciate this great, free, online newspaper. I just wanted to say thanks from a long-distance but not absent reader!
