From Nanda-Lem Gurung

Guildford resident and former Gurkha.

On my behalf, and on behalf of Guildford ex-Gurkhas, I’d like to extend our heartiest gratitude to David Rose and those who have sent comments supporting our campaign featured this week on The Guildford Dragon NEWS.

Our trip to London to present our written submission to an all-party parliamentary committee on Gurkha welfare was a historic and a lovely day for the Gurkhas.

Amid a large gathering of Gurkha veterans by the Houses of Parliament, the hard copy written submission, individual case reports and video clip evidences of veterans from Nepal compiled by the Nepali News of Europe, were handed over to the Jacqui Doyle-Price MP, the chairman of the all-party parliamentary committee looking into the Gurkha pension and welfare issues.

We’ve had full support from British public for our campaign ever since we began campaigning in the 1990s. We’re most hopeful that the Government will listen to our grievances and give fair judgement this time.
