Sara Sharif
From A Ranawaka
I wanted to reach out to say thank you. I came across your article on the tragic Sara Sharif case, and I found your article to be the only comprehensive article of the court case I could find.
I had to go through at least five BBC articles to find one piece of information, and finally I came across your article and it was all there. It was comprehensive and as factual as possible. No unnecessary repeating and waffling just to fill a word quota. Simply facts and information.
I could not finish reading it all as the subject matter was too close to home and it was hard to read what happened to that poor child. But I was able to read enough to be struck by it. So, I wanted to write to you to say thank you for your journalistic integrity. In an era that feels like impulsive writing and sensationalism sells, I am glad to know that sober writing with integrity still exists.
I hope you keep your writing fire alive, and not grow discouraged by anyone that seems to make it far by compromising their writing simply to sell.
In this dark ordeal that poor Sara had to endure, I am glad to have found a little light of hope in The Guildford Dragon NEWS.
Editor’s response: Our reports were edited versions of those produced by Surrey Police. We thank them for doing so.
