Mental health charity Oakleaf Enterprise is expanding its service to offer support to women impacted by gambling-related harm across Surrey.

It is part of its Bridge the Gap trauma-informed outreach service.

Guildford-based Oakleaf says an assessment by Surrey County Council, for what it termed “multiple disadvantage”, highlighted challenges faced by women affected by gambling.

In response, Oakleaf is offering “tailored, trauma-informed support to ensure those most in need receive the care they deserve”.

As a member of Surrey’s Bridge the Gap alliance, Oakleaf says its has assembled “a team of specialist outreach practitioners to provide one-to-one support within local communities”.

Adding: “A peer mentoring programme will deliver group-based, step-down support, creating a comprehensive pathway that promotes long-term recovery and resilience.”
